dress-up

So after all the excitement of the fashion show (I can't believe it was already like 2 weeks ago) I've settled back into the regular boring college life...glum face. What's been happening lately?

HALLOWEEN
I must say I was pretty disappointed in myself at this year's costume. I was initially planning on destroying a giant brown t-shirt and going as Pocahontas, because I have these fringed boots & feather earrings that would be perfect. But lack of materials/lack of time/school-induced exhaustion did not permit...so I wore this glittery $8 dress I got at Buffalo Exchange. I don't know what I was supposed to be, some people said Pocahontas (lol my original goal!) and Cleopatra or like a gladiator or something...so whatever, it worked. Accessorized with my favorite leaf earrings from Indonesia and a gold cuff from...I forget where.

I didn't get a full length picture (fail) but this is pretty much the jist of it. Hi Mickey behind me doing bunny ears..lol.

I found inebriated Tigger, don't tell the kids..

My friend wore this yellow blazer with a cowboy hat (what is THAT supposed to be??) and I insisted on trying it on. K, it's very oversized...but just another reminder of my love for yellow and blazers and wearing guys' clothing. Just not...all together, haha. Black boyfriend blazer is definitely on my wishlist though.

Why do I look so disgruntled? & sorry friend for stealing your blazer haha!

---

I experienced another awkward camera moment and was again reminded of how...tongue-twisty and stuttery I get when in front of the camera. Yoostar (some casting agency??) came to UCI one day and my friend and I did a mini audition as Grover and Elmo. It was embarrassing......and I'm pretty sure ALL the staff knew we were only doing it for the free swag (lip plumping gloss/hairspray/mascara from L'oreal, hairbrush, mirror, and giant t-shirt). I have NO shame when it comes to free stuff!!

But hey that giant t-shirt came in handy on Friday. My friend won tickets to the Dream concert but couldn't go, so immediately I took them off her hands and started thinking of what to wear.

Concert = opportunity to wear clothes you wouldn't normally wear, soooo when in doubt...just start cutting shit! I ended up making a dress out of that giant t-shirt I got, thanks Yoostar, and I was pretty happy with it. I didn't get any full length pictures (yet again) but...pretty self explanatory. And more yellow, hooray.

It was a racerback in the back, tied with a little scrap of t-shirt.

Speaking of cutting t-shirts I've been meaning to do this for ages: http://childhoodflames.blogspot.com/2008/10/do-it-yourself-shredded-tee.html.

Ever since I saw Crystal post about it on her blog...but I haven't gotten around to it. WHAT do I do with all my time!? (Answer: basically avoid studying in any and all ways possible...so you'd think I'd have done the t-shirt by now)

Also...in a late night emo slump I bought like 8 things on forever21.com for only $90!!!!! Sometimes I hate looking at my closet and realizing how much stuff I own from forever, but it's just so cheap and easy. Like a hoe. Okay I take that back but I am realllllly looking forward to this shipment coming in. JUST the pick-me-up I need, what with the second round of midterms coming up! Wish me luck... ):
